This area of the Wye is one of the most scenic in the lower reaches, unspoilt countryside and fantastic fishing. The stretch is considerable in length so there’s plenty of scope for exploring with a float or to roam with a feeder rod. Large numbers of barbel inhabit this stretch to 10lb plus. Mostly unexplored for pike there’s always the possibility of a specimen to those willing to put the hours in.

Please be aware there are seasonal restrictions on access to Wyesham - fishing is coarse only and available October 18th until March 2nd ONLY, the stretch has a salmon ghillie who regularly bailiffs . Members will receive the gate code on joining. Please see the maps emailed when joining for banks where fishing is permitted and Rules section prior to fishing.

Brown trout, chub and barbel to 9lb 12oz. Salmon numbers are increasing compared to previous years and turning up as accidental captures by coarse anglers more often than you’d expect.
